About me

I was introduced to Massage and Energy work while working at a retreat center in Hawaii in 1997.

In 1998, I began training in massage, and spiritual practices in Kansas and Hawai’i, and became Certified in therapeutic massage and Lomi Lomi (Hawai’ian massage), on the Big Island of Hawai‘i in 2001.

I use the traditional Swedish form of Therapeutic Massage, Lomi Lomi, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, Pre-Natal, Hot Stone Massage, and Spa Therapies in my practice as well as simple spiritual practices to help remove unwanted energy/tension and restore balance.

I work with professional athletes, pre and post athletic events; with injury care and prevention; students, teachers, parents, artists, activists, health care professionals, and have been entrusted with the care of many families as their Massage Therapist.

If needed, I offer discounted services for social justice activists and those affected by the continual abuse of systemic racism. Its my hope that this gift helps to ensure the energy spent on social justice is refilled and replenished.

I have been lucky to study with teachers and mentors such as, Sharon Burch of Lawrence, KS; Nancy Kahalewai; Daniel Albers; Billy Weaver; Papa Kepelino; Kahuna Ka Wahine Ke Aloha Uhane Nui Moe Kapu Na Ali'i Nui Kumu Leina’ala Kaahuhailikaukoalaaika’alaneo, one of the first students of the late Auntie Margaret Kalehuamakanoelu'ulu'uonapali Aha'ula Keali'I Machado, from the Big Island.

What is Teyolia?

Teyolía is known as our energetic heart space, according to the cosmovision of the ancient Aztecs, which are part of my familial heritage. It translates to “That which we need to live.”

Together with the Tonalli and Ihíyotl, they are known as the energy bodies that bring life and health to us. The Teyolia, is the part of us that goes on after our physical body is gone and carries with it our interests and life passions and resides in our heart.

In my practice, I work alot with the energy of the heart space, in ceremonial work and also the physical pain most people have is between the shoulder blades. Just on the other side of that, is the heart center. I thought it an appropriate match to honor my practice and those that came before me, to choose this as my new business name. “That which we need to live.”

“Its my calling in life to be of healing service to you, so that you can have rest on your journey, and a place to fill your cup.” - Jessica
